THE 50th anniversary of Accrington Stanley’s withdrawal from the football league will be marked by a reunion.
The club is bringing together the team which lost 4-0 to Crewe Alexandra in March 1962.
Organisers also want to hear from supporters with their stories of that game or the build-up to the resignation letter being sent.
Then chairman Edward Slinger revealed Stanley owed thousands of pounds to Inland Revenue and in unpaid transfer fees.
They reformed in 1968 and eventually returned to the football league in 2006.
The reunion will be held next March.
The line-up was Alex Smith, George Forrester, Alan Gregory, Mike Pickup, Bob Wilson, Willie Devine, Lawson Bennett, Bill Smith, Mike Ferguson, Alex Hamilton and Paddy Mulvey.
Of those, Forrester, Bennett and Hamilton, have since died.
Players and fans are asked to get in touch on 01254 356950.
