IT would appear from the trophies proudly on show that these young footballers had ‘cleaned up’ in the 1931/32 season.

They played for the Lever Bros works team at the time and were obviously a talented and successful side. The photograph has been sent in by Freda Slattery of Cumbria, who is trying to find out some more information.

Her father, Fred Sorby, who is on the right of the front row, is the only name we know.

Said Freda: “My father was born and lived in Blackburn until he left for the war, after which he lived in Morecambe, but I would like to know who the rest of the players are.”
