DECADES ago, the workplace not only provided jobs, it was often the focus of workers' socialising, too.
Sports and social clubs organised events and activities, and ran a variety of sports teams, with employees taking part in football, bowls and darts leagues.
This photograph shows the square dancing team, made up of the staff of Newman's Footwear, in Blackburn, in 1950.
We don't know any names of the dancers, or if they were successful.
Do any of our readers recognise anyone?
