Is this a first communion?

LOOKING sweet and angelic in this photograph are four dozen Blackburn youngsters outside church.

Can we assume it is the day of their first Holy Communion at St Peter's?

We don't know the date of this picture, however, or have any clue to the names of the demure-looking children, all neat and pristine for their special day.

Do you recognise anyone, or maybe know the name of the priest?

Or, perhaps you have your own story to tell of the day you took your first communion, or a photograph to recall the day, such as this one.

This is indeed a first holy commumion photograph outside St Peters church Mill Hill.
Although I am not in this photo myself (I was 3 years younger) my brother Gary Mitchell can be seen on the 2nd row up on the very left hand side. Other miscreants I can see are Neil Duckworth & David Balmer.
I can't be sure but the father may be Dean Rylands, the priest in residence during my time at the church was Father Waters.
