SOME old favourites, two special anniversaries and shows for all tastes and ages are among an exciting line-up at Colne Muni over the next few months.

As part of the venue’s new season both the centenary of the fatal first voyage of the Titanic and the 400th anniversary of the trial of the Lancashire witches will be marked by special exhibitions and productions.

One of the highlights of the month comes on Sunday, April 15 when the Colne Orchestra performs a Titanic Centenary Commemoration Concert.

Guest peformers include violinist Jonathan Evans-Jones who played the part of Nelson-born Wallace Hartley, the band leader on the luxury liner, in the Oscar-winning movie Titanic.

Martin Daniels, son of TV favourite Paul Daniels, will be bringing his own show - Should It Be Magic - to the theatre and leading Irish musicians The Fureys and Davey Arthur will be appearing on Saturday, April 21.

May highlights include the return of the all-singing, all-dancing show The Magic of Motown, psychic James Byrne and the stars of BBC1’s The Magaicians Barry and Stuart.

A new play, Devlilish Practices will help mark the 400th anniversary of the Lancashire Witches.

A second production in July also looks at the events surrounding the infamous trial and in June, a special exhibition on the Titanic opens.

The Muni’s popular soul and ballroom dancing events will also be held over the coming months.
