THE daily battle of three hostages struggling to survive is the story taken on by Colne Little Theatre performers this week.
Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness observes the three men who have been locked up in the Middle East, as victims of political action.
The play sees the Englishman, Irishman and American as they fight for their lives, powerless to change the situation they find themselves in.
A Colne Little Theatre spokesman said: “In this wonderful play, Frank McGuinness explores the daily crisis endured by hostages whose strength comes from communication, both subtle and mundane, from humour, wit and faith.”
Praise for the play recognises the humour within the bleak circumstances, as well as games, songs and stories the men use to get by. The Little Theatre production has been directed by Gordon Ingleby, with John Cummings as Irish journalist Edward, Steve Grist as American Adam and Simon Bailey as English professor Michael.
