I've heard Cassini Club have been a bit quiet because they're busy recording some new stuff. I agree though, they put a good show on at Darwen Live.

If you know Cassini Club though, I'm guessing you know India Mill? They're on the main stage at last!

What the hell are Outsider and Merry Hell doing on the billing BEFORE Jamie Mac?

Why don't they get someone people know, for me I'd love for the organizers to get Rock Sugar (http://www.rocksuga

There are lots of really dynamic, talented bands locally who don't get a sniff at Darwen Live Mainstage.
I have to say, Cassini Club wouldn't be my bag but, if there is a demand for them, why not.
I can't really see what Jamie Mac would be doing at all on the mainstage, nice chap though he is, I don't think he has played a gig in Darwen since last Darwen Live and, as I recall, much of the music was generated by backing tracks with a few musicians playing over them. This can be also said for some others playing the main stage!(again!!) Hardly "Music Live" is it?
Merry Hell - really good band but, have you seen Outsider recently? A shadow of their former selves playing some really none descript covers instead of the well written, if not Starsailor clone, original material they used to play.
Whoever organises Darwen Live is going to be "damned if they do and damned if they don't" as far as band selections are concerned but the present "system" really stinks. Rest assured, you are going to be watching Darwen Live committee members and their mates playing the majority of the slots for local bands (some will appear in 2 or 3 bands over the weekend). This lot have snubbed numerous really talented, popular local bands for the last couple of years so don't expect to see Cassini Club until they put someone onto the committee for next year!!
Here endeth the lesson!!
