Blackburn Drama Club launches its new season tomorrow night with a reading of Duets by Peter Quilter.

The readings mark the start of work towards the 2014-15 season, which will take to the stage in the autumn.

Duets requires a cast of four men and four women, although this could be varied.

On Monday, Alan Bennett’s Habeas Corpus, with a cast of six men and five women will be read, followed next Wednesday, April 9 by Ladies Day by Amanda Whittington, for four women and one man.

The final reading takes place on Wednesday, April 16, of Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones.

Anyone interested in directing one of these works is asked to email blackburndramaclub@talktalk.net by April 7.

All readings start at 7.30pm at the club’s rehearsal room in Thwaites Empire Theatre.
