TICKETS are on sale for Blackburn Drama Club’s next play Bronte.
Clive Stack is directing the Polly Teale play, which examines how the reclusive Bronte sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne were able to write some of literatures most erotic prose.
A drama club spokesman said: “The short, troubled lives of the Bronte sisters have become one of the great literary myths of all time.
“How was it possible that three women who had never had sex, and had probably never been kissed, could write some of the most erotic literature of all time? And why should these plain, reclusive women, who lived in rural isolation, have invented such stories.”
The play runs at Thwaites Empire Theatre from March 6 to 9, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £9 from 01254 685500.
