BLACKBURN Musical Theatre Company takes a trip down memory lane this week with its Centenary Showcase.
Celebrating 100 years on stage in 2012, the society’s members are presenting the three-night special at Thwaites Empire Theatre from Thursday.
Chairman Gary Worthy said: “We had a fantastic run with Carousel in May, with sell out performances really helping the celebration feel.
“And we’re back with this very special showcase of company and audience favourites from recent productions and years gone by.
“We’re thrilled to have some past members return to the stage once more, and we can’t wait to recreate the Blackburn Amateurs’ famous Dixie Medley with several of our newer performers picking up the pace.”
The show, rehearsed in just six weeks, includes numbers from the Cockney musicals, Rodgers and Hammerstein classics and an Anything Goes surprise selection.
- Centenary Showcase, Blackburn Musical Theatre Company, Thwaites Empire Theatre, Thursday to Saturday, 7.30pm. All tickets £8 from the box office on 01254 685500.
