TICKETS go on sale today to the public for tip-top tap show 42nd Street.
Burnley-based Basics Junior Theatre School’s senior students will be presenting the musical at the Mechanics theatre from December 4 to 8.
More than 500 seats have been reserved already, with bookings made by cast members and Basics’ patrons.
Spokesman Andy Cooke said: “This promises to be the seniors’ biggest, brightest, boldest and most sparkling dance musical ever.
“Since 1987 Basics have been wowing their audiences with great young talents - many of which have gone on to perform as professionals all over the world.
“42nd Street is the ultimate Broadway fairytale as a stage-struck understudy becomes an overnight star.
“Packed with razzmatazz, this Basics show will set your heart pounding with its rhythmically tapping feet and hit parade of songs including Lullaby Of Broadway, We’re In The Money, Shuffle Off To Buffalo and, of course, 42nd Street.”
Former Basics member Richard Sanderson is returning to the youth theatre company to make his directoral debut with the society – he directed Pendle Hippodrome Theatre Company’s production of The Sound Of Music earlier this year.
Tickets go on sale from the Mechanics box office today, costing £8 to £12, on 01282 664400.
