Choirs, jazz and folk lined up for Colne tribute variety show

A CHARITY concert in memory of a Colne woman is set for an encore performance later this month at the town’s Christ Church.

Family and friends of Alizon Shilton, who died aged 58 in January 2011 after a long battle with leukaemia, have pencilled in the fundraiser at the Keighley Road church for Saturday, September 29.

Pendle Youth Choir, Colne Orpheus Male Voice Choir, Pendle Jazzmen and Royal Folk are booked to appear, and there will be comedy duets and readings, in aid of the Royal Bristol Hospital where Alizon was treated, and the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
