A SHOW paying tribute to one of rock and roll’s legendary figures comes to the Thwaites Theatre in Blackburn for the first time next weekend.
Barry Steele will headline the show next Saturday performing the classic hits of Roy Orbison, backed by a five-piece band.
The show covers The Big O’s initial rise to fame in the Sixties through to his days as a member of the Travelling Wilburys.
As well as the live band and authentic costumes, the show also includes a specially-produced film showing clips from Roy Orbison’s life, interspersed with concert footage from Barry’s shows, making it a full multi-media experience.
Barry is the only Roy Orbison tribute to have been licensed to sell official Roy Orbison merchandise by the singer’s widow and the family estate.
He has also sung in front of Roy Orbison’s son Wesley at the 75th anniversary celebrations in Nashville.
The rock and roll spectacular will also feature hits by The Shadows plus two special guests. Rossendale’s Paul Molloy who will perform as Elvis Presley in his GI Days and Burnley’s Boogie Williams will give a tribute to The Killer, Jerry Lee Lewis.
