Rising folk star set to headline festival

What's on: Jesca Hoop, Cloudspotting Festival, July 28
ONE of the rising stars of the alternative folk pop scene, Jesca Hoop, has been announced as one of the headliners at Ribble Valley music festival Cloudspotting.
The event runs at the Aspinall Arms, Mitton, near Whalley, from Friday July 27, until Sunday, July 29.
California-born Jesca, who now lives in Manchester, has been added to the bill along with Americana band Blind Atlas and will feature on the Saturday evening of the festival.
She will be promoting her new album The House That Jack Built, a follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2009 album Hunting My Dress.
Jesca has been tipped for great things by some of the biggest names in the music business.
Having been endorsed by Elbow’s Guy Garvey, she joined Eels on their US and European tour in 2011 and was invited by Peter Gabriel to sing backing vocals for his David Letterman and Jools Holland TV performances, and support and duet with him on his South American tour last year.
Cloudspotting will see more thanr 20 different bands and solo artists appearing on two stages over three days.
Camping is available at the family-friendly event.
