What's on: Bad Cardigan, Rawtenstall, July 22

EAST Lancashire duo Bad Cardigan have been asked to play at the launch party for the new album by The Levellers in London.

Jack Anwyl, from Great Harwood, and Tom Randall, from Whalley, who are both 18, will perform in front of leading industry figures at the Garage in Islington on Monday night.

Bad Cardigan were spotted performing at a pub in Birmingham and invited to play at the launch party.

It’s a major opportunity for the duo, who only started performing together in September last year after meeting at St Mary’s College in Blackburn.

Jack’s dad Johnny who manages the duo said: “They played a gig at the Brown Lion in Birmingham which went down really well.

Someone in the audience had connections with The Levellers and recommended Bad Cardigan for the album lauhcn show.

East Lancashire music lovers’ next chance to catch the duo live will be at the Top Club in Rawtenstall on Sunday, July 22.

They are also scheduled to appear at the Cloudspotting festival at the Aspinall Arms at Mitton at the end of July.
