What's on: Pendle Guitar Festival, June 24
4:22pm Friday 15th June 2012 in What's on in Lancashire
AFTER striking a successful chord last year, Pendle Guitar Festival looks set to become an annual event.
On Sunday, June 24, there will be live music, free guitar workshops, lessons and recording sessions, guitar valuations and a chance to buy, sell and trade new, used and vintage bass and guitars at The Ace Centre in Nelson.
ACE Centre studio engineer Andrea Quarin said: “Last year’s event was a tremendous success with people coming from all over to attend. It was the first of its kind for Pendle, East Lancs and we believe, possibly the North West.
“We had a fantastic day and a fantastic response from everyone who attended and we are hoping this year’s will be even better.”
Pendle Guitar Festival, which is being sponsored by Forsyth Music Shop, in Deansgate, Manchester and Swap Shop, in Leeds Road, Nelson, will take place from 10am to 5pm.
Andrea added: “There will be lots happening, including live music in the Jazz Café and acoustic, jazz and rock guitar performances and workshops given by guitar legend Jerry Donahue, Chris Woods, Gavin Coulson and Scott Whitley.
“There will also be free guitar lessons for all levels and a chance to make a free 10 minute recording in our studio.
“There will be stalls selling guitars, amps and related items, plus a display of vintage guitars. This will be any musician or music-lover’s dream day out.”
Tickets £4 in advance and £5 on the door.
