Blackpool’s buzzing over Elton’s gig
4:05pm Friday 15th June 2012 in What's on in Lancashire
TWO weeks after wowing the nation at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert, Rocket Man Elton John hits the stage in Blackpool tomorrow to launch the new Tower Festival Headland venue.
Speaking about his trip to Blackpool, Sir Elton said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting Lancashire again and enjoying the Blackpool sea air. It’s been 20 years since I played in Blackpool.
“I hear some very special Blackpool rock has been created just for me! The concerts so far on this British tour have been fabulous fun, whatever the weather.”
To mark the event some limited edition Rocket Man rock will be presented to Sir Elton while he is in Blackpool and it is also available to people who buy the last few remaining VIP tickets for the performance.
Tickets are in short supply but VisitBlackpool may have a few available ranging from £75 for a top seat to £165 for the corporate hospitality package.
To inquire ring 01253 478100 or visit www.visitblackpool.com/elton for more information.
Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Marketing Blackpool, said, “There’s a real buzz about as we get into the final stages of preparing for this massive gig.
“It was great to see Elton performing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert but that was just a taste of what’s going to happen in Blackpool.
“We are expecting a fantastic evening and know people are going to be talking about this for a long time to come.”
