THE Force will be with visitors to a special Star Wars day to be held in Burnley on Monday, May 2.

Ten actors who have appeared in the most successful movie franchise of all time are scheduled to appear at the event which will take over the James Hargreaves Suite at Burnley FC’s Turf Moor ground.

The bank holiday spectacular, now in its fourth year, offers something for diehard fans and families alike.

Among the personalities attending will be actors who played Ewoks in the Return of the Jedi movie and Nick Gillard, the stunt arranger on all three Star Wars prequels.

It was his role to choreograph the light sabre fights between Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson in The Phantom Menace.

The family fun day will see numerous costumed characters and a major display of large-scale Star Wars models.

Organiser Neil Livesey said: “This year’s show will offer more to see and do for everyone.

"You can be photographed by a death star and there will even be a green screen so children can become X-wing pilots.

“We’re also really pleased to have a number of droids running around the show, working models of the likes of C3P0 and R2D2 and, for the first time, some characters from the Clone Wars movies.”

The fun day runs from 10.30am to 4pm on Monday and admission is £6 on the door, £3 for children.
