Curious Savage to be staged at the Civic Theatre in Oswaldtwistle
3:49pm Tuesday 15th October 2013 in What's on in Lancashire
ACTRESS Clare Highton will be making sure she’s on point for her latest role with Oswaldtwistle Players this week.
The Curious Savage takes to the stage tomorrow until Saturday at the Civic Theatre, Oswaldtwistle.
And as the eccentric and fabulously wealthy widow Mrs Savage, she has to throw a dart to hit a target twice in each performance.
In preparation for the role, she’s been in practice at local pub the Stop And Rest, Fielding Lane, where landlord Roger Metcalfe has been giving her tips.
A spokesman for the players said: “Clare has been practising daily while learning her lines as she does not want to miss and hit something, or someone, that she shouldn’t!”
Mrs Savage’s greedy stepchildren believe she is losing her mind when she starts gving away vast sums of money to strangers, and they have her committed to a sanatorium, where she bonds with the other ‘guests’ as she plots her release.
Tickets for the 7.30pm performances cost £7 tomorrow night, and £8.50 from Thursday to Saturday, concessions £7.50, from www.ticketsource.co.uk/ oswplayers, Hyndburn Leisure on 01254 380293 or Edmundson’s Sweet Shop, in Oswaldtwistle.
