AN open reading night will take on Ian Hornby thriller The Price To Pay on Tuesday, March 5, at 7.30pm.
Rossendale Players are hosting the reading, with a view to recommend the work to its selection committee for future seasons.
‘Ordinary married couple’ Roger and Laura are dramatically separated when a man and women – posing as the police – kidnap Laura and keep her captive in a rundown farmhouse.
The police are called, but their motives do not always seem in Laura’s best interests.
It is left to Laura and Roger to effect the final solution, but there is a price to pay, and their lives will never be the same again.
A spokesman said: “This play has good character parts, especially the schizophrenic kidnapper Dianne and her slow partner Barry.
“This not a casting night. We read the play, say what we think and recommend it – or not as the case may be – to the play selection committee, all over a brew.”
The reading takes place at the Players’ base the Millennium Theatre, Waterfoot.
