CBeebies presenter, Sid Sloane comes to Lancashrie

CALLING all children! Your favourite CBeebies presenter, Sid Sloane wants you to help him find his shoes and socks — and he thinks they’re in East Lancashire.
On his nationwide solo tour named after the man himself, the star of popular children’s series Let’s Play will be coming to Burnley, Clitheroe and Bolton.
“Along the way you will meet some strange and happy people and there are lots of surprises. This show is so much fun for children and for all the family, as parents are guaranteed to enjoy this as much as the little ones and everyone will go away having had a great time.” said Sid.
With adventures to the bottom of the ocean, deep in the jungle and outer space, Sid promises lots of audience interaction and a meet-and-greet after the show.
But catch him while you can because the longest serving presenter at CBeebies is leaving after 13 years.
“I am enjoying being out on tour although now I think it is the time to leave the show, because I have lots to concentrate on and I am planning on taking this show to different venues across the country. I also want to concentrate on comedy, but who knows I may come back,” said Sid who changed his career from stockbroking to study acting in 1997.
For those of you who know, Sid has worked alongside his co-presenters inspiring pre-schoolers to discover the world through fun, creative role-play and dressing-up along the way.
Combining his love for theatre and children, he also said that family shows and theatre are important for pre-school aged children and a younger audience.
“Technology can make it easy for children to have immediate access to the internet and they can watch any show that they want. And most parents know that their kids will watch TV for as long as they can. But it’s important that mum and dad take youngsters along to live shows from an early age because there’s nothing like live performances. It really inspires them too because they have so much curiosity at that age and hopefully it will make them spread their wings.”
