ORGANIST Nigel Ogden will be giving a concert in the Ribble Valley next week.

Nigel, presenter of Radio 2’s The Organist Entertains, will be playing a specially prepared selection of popular and light classical music at Christ Church, Chatburn.

The concert also includes a performance by The Haslingden Choir, who make an ideal partner with the music that Nigel will be performing. They are a mixed voice ensemble performing a wide ranging programme of material.

Concert organiser Clive Greenwood said: “We are very excited that Nigel has agreed to play for us. We are arranging a live video relay to enable the audience to see him play in close up.

“The music events at Christ Church were first set up to raise money for the organ, and now that has been successfully achieved, it is fitting to have the top UK organist of light music to perform this first concert on the new organ.”
