SHOWZAM, the annual festival of circus and magic, returns to Blackpool in February.

Whether it’s free shows, exhibitions or circus skills, children and adults are promised an amazing experience during the half-term school holidays.

“We’ve got 150 performers taking part in the ten day festival, and The Youth Circus from the world famous Gerry Cottle Circus,” said managing director of Marketing Blackpool, Natalie Wyatt.

“Last year was a real hit, and Showzam has grown again.”

Youngsters will be given the opportunity to tune their own circus skills, and can join Mr Albert’s Trade of Tricks Workshop at the Grand Theatre studio where children can learn a variety of magic tricks before watching the colourful family comedy, Mr Albert’s Big Finish.

Other attractions include a Face-Painting Festival at the Pleasure Beach and Skate It sessions with Blackpool’s Dancing on Ice Star Katie Stainsby.

Diva of Magic, Romany will be entertaining families at The Sands Venue with her flamboyant show about dreams and how to achieve them.

And for those who simply love to watch, Showzam would not be complete without the sharp wit of its Street Theatre.

Back by popular demand is Granny Turismo with songs to shock and amuse while Wondertours present a comedy walking tour of Blackpool and its history of entertainment and variety.
