RISING star Charlotte O’Connor will be performing live at a special charity night to help a fund set up in memory of a former Westholme pupil.

Lara’s Foundation was set up in memory of Lara Jones from Goosnargh who died while backpacking in Cuba in April.

Lara, 26, worked as an English teacher throughout South America and her foundation aims to provide a school to give underprivileged youngsters the chance to learn English.

Two of Lara’s friends from Westholme, Sally Crawshaw and Kate Buchanan have organised the charity night at Mellor Village Hall tomorrow night.

As well as singer-songwriter Charlotte, music will also come from London-based Blues Brothers Banned, a 10-piece outfit from London who play all the Blues Brothers hits and classic soul numbers.

There will also be a raffle and cash bar with all proceeds going to the foundation.

Tickets are £10, available in advance from Alan Rene hairdressers in Blackburn or Mellor village post office. They will also be available on the door from 7pm tomorrow night.
