With this week seeing Tina being given the ‘grace card’ through to next weeks show due to her illness, would it make another unlikely contestant at risk of being out of the running, especially with the Rumba being one the hardest dances to master for the male celebrities, and after last weeks surprising result it must put the cat amongst the pigeon toed!

Overall though I was disappointed with some of the choreography especially on the Quickstep routines, they were more show routine than dance routines, surely the professionals should save this for the quarterfinals, or is it just a ploy to cover up bad workmanship?

For me the celebrities who have had dance experience, which obviously gives them an advantage over the others, should be made to dance more technical routines and save the show work for American Smooth Week or later on in the competition.

Do you agree?

Kara and Artem: Quickstep Craig 8, Len 8, Alisha 8, Bruno 7, Total 31.

A very good opening to the show with a clever choreographed show routine, Kara was very graceful and light footed. However, for me it was missing in technical content even despite it being extremely well performed.

Felicity and Vincent: Rumba Craig 7, Len 7, Alisha 8, Bruno 7, Total: 29.

A beautifully controlled back bend from Felicity at the beginning of their routine, but I was not too keen on the Harley Davidson hold from Vincent, it did look as if he was just after a little of the ‘good life’.

The rest of the routine was very start stop rather than fluid as a Rumba should be danced and Felicity needs to lengthen her leg line to enhance the step. There was very good control on her splits yet the transition between her little stunts needed to be more continuous, as all the judges agreed she is nearly there she just needs a little longer.

Patsy and Robin: Quickstep Craig 5, Len 6, Alisha 7, Bruno 6, Total: 24.

Yet another show dance routine, both Patsy and Robin were not high enough or light enough on their feet, after an excruciating long intro there were a couple of recognisable dance steps, it was the choreography that let them down this week, it needed to be simpler and achievable. Paul and Ola: Rumba Craig 2, Len 5, Alisha 5, Bruno 4, Total:16.

A brilliantly choreographed routine from Ola, elegant and manageable for Paul to dance. He had obviously worked very hard mastering his Rumba action, I felt as if Paul lost it slightly in the second half of the routine, but it certainly was not as bad as the judges’ comments were, as they were very harsh and uncalled for. Keep going Paul.

Matt and Aliona: Quickstep Craig 8, Len 7, Alisha 8, Bruno 8, Total: 31.

A good lively elegant routine, Matt was quite turned out in his feet, and I personally preferred the first half of the routine to the second, as it was more polished and rehearsed. I’m not sure what the little run round thing was meant to be in the middle of the floor towards the end, it looked to be a bit of a time waster.

Gavin and Katya: Rumba Craig 3, Len 6, Alisha 7, Bruno 6, Total: 22.

Another very well choreographed danceable routine, Gavin even has a good hip action developing. He needed to be a little softer in the knees and push his feet into the floor more, but a very good attempt. He now needs to become more emotive in his dance, Craig’s three was out of order, I would love to see him get up a dance a Rumba.

Scott and Natalie: Quickstep Craig 8, Len 8, Alisha 9, Bruno 9, Total:34.

The best Quickstep of the night! Scott had an excellent frame with controlled footwork, even a little sway appeared, a very convincing well presented Quickstep full of character and technicality.

Scott is definitely the one too watch, his whole relaxed approach is appealing.

Michelle and Brendan: Rumba Craig 4, Len 6, Alisha 7, Bruno 7, Total 24.

What Rumba! The only step that I recognised was three “Rumba” walks danced with her feet off the floor. The judges comments were very careful so as not to upset Brendan but I agree that there were a couple of nice lines created but there was no softness, fluidity and passion it was all lines and no curves, up your game Brendan.

Peter and Erin: Quickstep Craig 6, Len 7, Alisha 7, Bruno 6, Total:26.

Definitely Peters best dance to date, a couple of little footwork and timing issues but a vast improvement on last week. A true Quickstep danced with feeling and meaning, keep this up Peter - you were a pleasure too watch.

Jimi and Flavia: Rumba Craig 6, Len 7, Alisha 6, Bruno 6, Total:25.

Oh dear! I was expecting a lot more from Jimi in this dance as it should suit his personality, it was very forced and heavy which is any male dancers biggest mistake, be a man not a maniac, rain it in and dance from within, a very difficult dance to master.

Ann & Anton: Quickstep Craig 3, Len 5, Alisha 5, Bruno 5, Total: 18.

A brilliant choreographed routine from Anton. Ann needs to work on her posture more but she was moving around the floor like an ice skater, and it was the standing ovation from the studio audience that made it all worthwhile for her.

Pamela and James: Rumba Craig 9, Len 8, Alisha 9, Bruno 9, Total: 35.

Wow! Again saving the best dance for last, Pamela’s Rumba was absolutely gorgeous, performed fantastically - a true demonstration of the dance of love, great footwork, leg line and hip action with a hint of tease, for me it was the best week three Rumba ever.

Sunday Results Show. The right two couples were in the bottom two tonight, Michelle & Brendan, Paul & Ola, Paul Daniels you are a true gentleman, you had improved and entertained, sorry to see you leave.
