AFTER the Amazing production of last weeks Blackpool special, there is normally a lull within the ranks and the performances seem a little flat, but this could not be further from the truth, everyone had upped their game.

With only four weeks remaining until we crown the 2014 Strictly Champion everyone is more determined than ever, and unlike previous years, the winner is not a fore gone conclusion.

Steve & Ola Jive C4 D7 L6 B6 T23

Quite a continental Rock ‘n’ Roll feel to their Jive performance this week, and Steve’s timing was a little off a couple of times, his chasse action was also a little flat and he would have benefited from being higher on the balls of his feet, in saying all of that it was a very strong and consistent routine with amazing control on the lifts.

Caroline & Pasha American Smooth (Foxtrot) C7 D8 L9 B9 T33

A Foxtrot performance of a life time from these two this week, a slightly fast interpretation of this style, but as always amazing choreography styled with smooth flowing talent.

Pixie & Trent Charleston C9 D9 L9 B10 T37

I love these two, but for me this was not one of their best performances, I felt that Pixie’s arm lines were a little distorted and unfinished, and she was slightly of par with Trent a couple of times, however the energy, as always, was off the scale and the continuous turning kicks on one leg, which is extremely difficult to hold and maintain, she made look effortless.

Mark & Karen Tango C8 D8 L8 B8 T32

An amazing dramatisation of this style, with power and presentation that was fit for any dance floor, coupled with pure staccato. grrrrr. Very well danced Mark.

Frankie & Kevin Viennese Waltz C9 D9 L10 B10 T38

These two were made to perform together, a very light Viennese with great rotary turns, a little tighter in the closing action from Frankie would have just put the icing on the cake, but great frame work and perfect styling.

Jake & Janette Samba C9 D10 L10 B9 T38

Hurricane Hips Humphrey (Jake) his Samba hip action continued forever and a day, I bet he is aching today! A very clean routine performed with great carnival spirit.

Sunetra & Brendan Waltz C7 D7 L8 B8 T30

A beautiful elegant Waltz with a great gliding, lilting action, and subtle transitions performed with a beautiful storyline, for me this was Sunetra’s best dance yet.

Simon & Kristina Salsa C9 D9 L9 B9 T36

An amazing saucy Salsa with continuous smooth and fluid actions, full of content and relaxed feel to their performance, danced with true intent. For me this was one of the best male celebrity Salsa performances we have ever been graced with on Strictly.

Sunday results show

A powerful, Cops and Robbers opening routine from our professional dancers this week and it was lovely to see our Robin Windsor back on the Strictly floor.

But with Sunetra & Brendan and Steve & Ola in the dreaded dance off tonight’s show was going to end in tears. Both couples performed better but unfortunately it was Steve & Ola’s last performance, and Sunetra gets to perform again next week in Strictly’s around the world special!
