SERIES eleven and with fifteen new celebrities, however I do feel that maybe we are stretching that term slightly but how excited should we be as this is now the number one weekend entertainment show with the highest ratings.

Caroline & Pasha Cha Cha - C6, D7, L7, B7, T27 If this is their week one dance then these are the couple to watch, a great cheeky little Cha Cha, amazing rhythm and energy throughout. Come on team Pasha and amazing week one score.

Tim & Natalie Cha Cha – C3, D5, L5, B5, T18 A very confident first dance from Tom and a very entertaining performance but I do feel that Natalie had maybe bargained for more than she thought.

Jake & Janette Tango – C7, D7, L7, B7, T28 Another convincing week one routine especially for a male celebrity and to attack the Tango in this way is a great way to start the show.

Judy & Anton Waltz C3, D4, L6, B5, T18 A lovely presented waltz to Mull ‘O’ Kintyre and to see Anton in a kilt was worth it but I think Judy’s nerves just got the better of her but looked really glamorous.

Scott & Joanne Cha Cha C2, D4, L5, D5, T16 From the shoulders up Scott’s Cha Cha was very lively but unfortunately from the waist down it was quite stompy and flat footed but come on Scott work it!

Pixie & Trent Jive C7, D6, L7, B7, T27 Great presentation, great kick from Pixie, however, I would have preferred her a little higher on the balls of the feet but great energy throughout.

Saturday Night

A great opening from our professional dancers, especially with the IT team working overtime at the BBC to create a sophisticated piece of digital art.

For me this was one of the slickest professional routines we have seen before.

Mark & Karen Cha Cha C5, D7, L6, B6 T24 A carefully placed Cha Cha that was quite lively and entertaining, there were however some little footwork and timing issues but great potential.

Alison & Aljaz Cha Cha C6, D6, L7, B7, T26 Rhythm, Timing, Personality, Performance and Pizzazz, great first dance for Alison she was wonderfully light on her feet, a well rehearsed routine polished to perfection. I am really looking forward to watching their journey together.

Steve & Ola Tango C6, D6, L7, B7, T 26 One of the best male Tango’s for a week one performance I have ever seen, sharp, strong and solid, a little too over the top in the second half but an amazing performance.

Jennifer & Tristan Tango C3, D5, L5, B5, T18 Jennifer would have been better dancing a slightly simpler routine and working on her kicks and flicks a little more, a very energetic performance just need a little less content.

Thom & Iveta Waltz C5, D6, L6, B6, T23 Great lines and shaping, a little rounded in the shoulders but a very confident well controlled soft Waltz, performed by an elegant couple.

Sunetra & Brendan Tango C5, D6, L6, B7, T24 A very electric Tango full of strong passion and performance with good strong lines shaping and rhythm; a great Tango.

Gregg & Aliona Cha Cha C3, D5, L5, B5, T18 A little more steak and a little less Mince! Gregg the worlds best dad dancer but a very enthusiastic performance overall.

Frankie & Kevin Waltz C7, D7, L8, B8, T30 Beautiful choreography and beautiful use of a prop beautifully performed, beautiful Waltz demonstrated elegantly with good strong footwork, basically I thought it was sheer beauty!

Simon & Christina Jive C6, D7, L7, B7, T27 A light and lively Jive performance, a little higher on the balls of the feet would have helped the speed but what an entertaining show stopping Jive.

Next week two couples will go head to head in the dreaded dance but who is going to be the first celebrity to dance out gracefully?
