Tourist guide to Waddington

Waddington is one of Lancashire's most photographed villages but many folk insist that it should still be in Yorkshire.
To prove it, Waddington proudly displays its Best Kept Village Awards some relating to Yorkshire some to Lancashire.
Here are wonderful old pubs such as the Higher and Lower Bucks, while the Church of St Helens dates at least to 1501.
A stained glass window depicts an Anglo Saxon chieftain named Wada, who had his tun (settlement) on the site and gives us the modern name of Waddington.
Look out for the Parker Almshouses on the West Bradford road which date to the 18th century and are in a splendid state of repair.
Take the time to sit on the seats alongside the stream which splits the village.
