Scarlett Moffatt could earn more than £1 million in the next 12 months after being crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Industry experts say the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! winner’s earnings are set to “skyrocket”.

Scarlett was working as a disability adviser for students when she shot to fame as the straight-talking, fluffy slippers-wearing regular on Channel 4 show Gogglebox.

Her quips – as she sat watching TV with dad Mark, 49, and mum Betty, 45, on their sofa in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham – turned the Moffatts into one of Gogglebox’s best-loved families.

Offers have been pouring in for the 26-year-old during her time in the jungle.

But a source close to Scarlett said she would not be rushing into anything and wanted to spend time with her family, including little sister Ava.

“TV channels, as well as publishers and fashion brands, have all expressed interest in Scarlett,” the source said.

“She has only just left the jungle and will need to gather her thoughts about her future. Her priority will be her family.”

Scarlett is already set to release a weight-loss DVD, after shedding two stone earlier this year, and previously published a book, Scarlett Says, containing her thoughts on “life, the universe and everything”.

When she does decide to ponder her future, the northern star could do anything from a fly-on-the-wall TV series to launching her own perfume.

Part of Scarlett’s appeal is her authenticity, according to Peter Mountstevens, managing partner at TV and consumer brand PR agency Taylor Herring.

“She’s famous for playing herself and the public have fallen in love with her no-nonsense, witty personality,” he said.

He said that Scarlett’s appeal was “potentially far broader” than last year’s winner, reality TV star Vicky Pattison, and that the Gogglebox star could earn more than £1 million.

“The most successful I’m A Celebrity contestants like Peter Andre and Myleene Klass have built (or re-built) entire careers on the back of the show,” he said.

“Advertising deals, product endorsements, book deals and a TV series for Scarlett are now a given.

“Her earnings potential is set to skyrocket and we could well see Scarlett earn in excess of £1 million over the next 12 months.”

He added: “We may well see her emulate Peter Andre with a fly-on-the-wall series following her life in the year ahead, as well as presenting slots and guest appearances.

“Other opportunities could range from endorsing supermarkets to creating bespoke perfumes, publishing books (autobiographical and fictional), fronting weight-loss brands – the list is extensive and pursuing the right opportunities as she builds her personal brand will be key.”

He said of Scarlett’s personality: “She will be hot property for brands because people view her as authentic.

“They don’t see a media-trained celebrity. They see a hugely likeable star with a killer sense of humour and a seemingly endless cache of off-the-cuff one liners. This gives her a huge amount of influence which is something commercial brands will want to tap into.”
