Dave Chappelle is to perform a full stand-up set in the UK for only the second time.
The contemplative and completely hilarious comic will perform eight shows in London between September 6 and September 9 at intimate venues Brixton Electric and Camden Electric Ballroom, at 7pm and 9.30pm each night.
They follow a sold-out run in Hammersmith last year.
The Washington native, who starred in Chappelle’s Show for three years until 2006, has had a recent run of gigs in New York – where he labelled Black Lives Matter “a terrible slogan”, saying “enough is enough” would be better.
His publicist later told Mic: “It’s a comedy show. Saying ‘black lives matter’ is like calling gum chewy.”
More of the same can be expected at the shows in London, where phones are strictly not allowed.
