I THINK we're moving into guilty pleasures territory again - but thankfully I don't think I'm alone in this one.
For those wondering what I'm talking about I have a theory that every TV viewer has a number of programmes which they secretly love but would never admit to watching.
I've already come out' about my Masterchef fixation - wasn't this week's final a great bit of telly by the way?

Friday nights have been allowing me to indulge in another TV treasure - re-runs of New Tricks.
Somehow I doubt if this series about retired detectives brought in to re-examine old cases will ever be on the Bafta shortlist but judging by the millions who make a date with the repeats, it's certainly struck a chord with the viewing public.
Of course it helps when you have such a strong ensemble of actors including James Bolam and Denis Waterman.
Then there's the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously.
How can it when one of the chief characters is an obsessive-compulsive Wimbledon fan with a photographic memory?
In many ways New Tricks is a very old-fashioned series relying on strong writing and a genuine bond between the main characters.
Rather like classic Corrie, a sense of humour runs through the whole thing, which lifts it above the norm.
So let's have a new series soon and allow us all to indulge ourselves. And, here's a novel idea, why not try and produce some more series of a similar quality.
