    Masterchef, BBC1

AS regular readers will know, I'm rather partial to a helping of Masterchef.

In fact it's become the staple diet of the Anson household TV viewing in recent weeks and is one of the few current series links on the old Sky Plus box.

Tomorrow it will all be over the we'll know whether sweaty Jonny, Emily the wonderkid or Ray Parlour lookalike James has triumphed.

But what a marvellous final it's been. Our tastbuds have been tempted, our emotions have been toyed with and then there has been the ultimate treat of watching Gregg Wallace turn into a giggling six-year-old when presented with a dish that tickles his tastebuds - usually a pudding!

Last night saw the most extravagent Masterchef episode so far as our intrepid trio were flown deep into the South American jungle to cater for the British army.

It still amazes me that anyone would actually want to become a chef - it seems very hot, pressurised work with people shouting at you a lot.

And yet, it's an environment in which, for some, creativity appears to blossom.

Personally, I can't decide whether James or Emily should win.

I suspect that in the end Emily's inexperience will count against her.

But you can bet that she'll have a stack of offers from top chefs to join their kitchens waiting for her.

What will I watch after tomorrow?
