IN the outer reaches of the Beeb's empire a little jewel of a documentary series has been tucked away on Monday nights.
Savile Row over on BBC4 has taken an in-depth, informative and highly entertaining look at the most prestigious address in the tailoring world.
It's just a shame that it will only have been witnessed by a limited audience - let's hope that it migrates to a mianstream channel for a welcome repeat in future - it would be a shame if the less adventurous in their channel choices were to miss out.

If anything sums up the concept of establishment then it has to be the bespoke tailors of Savile Row.
With prices of a suit starting around £2,,500 this is an exclusive world. The problem of being so exclusive, however, is that it must still face up to the challenges of a modern business.
Quality is one thing, but you still have to make a profit along the way.
The three-part series, which ended last night, has given a wry insight into the world of the men who try to keep centuries of tradition alive.
Last night several of the tailors realised that their new customers were not the aristocracy or the military but the new rich whose youth and brashness are the antithesis of the Savile Row way.
The answer, a new breed of salesmen who could relate to these young upstars without sneering. Great stuff.
