AND so the human wax works has become, as I feared, a completely damp squib.

After such an entertaining start, the Beeb's Saturday night offering The One And Only is, well, quite frankly boring.

As a one-off show it was TV gold. As a series I'm afraid it's enough to make you seek solace in the other channels. Worse still, just as you think you have escaped, there it is again for a second helping and the embarrassing sight of the look-not-so-alikes pleading not to be thrown off the show.

This week it was Britney's turn to see her career hit the skids - a case of art imitating life perhaps? - but do we really care.

I'd love to know how many viewers are actually "picking up that phone" to save their favourites. Probably like the chart single, the tribute act can achieve success on slender numbers.

Ginger Lionel and Dusty are by far the best. The rest will be appearing in pubs near you.

Even Graham Norton is beginning to look totally embarrassed by It all -although not as embarrassed as he should be by his choice of jacket this week.

Interestingly the best lookalike was not to be found in the contestants but in the Frank Sinatra superfan who is a double for Joan Collins. It shows it's getting boring when you notice things like that!

The Joan Collins lookalike is a REAL Character just as any true Pro should be so it is any wonder she stood out! Go Barbara!

lets see more of her arguning with the Host now that is more entertaining.

The fact that the terms and lengthy commitment excluded all the best professional tributes has become increasingly obvious.
It's a joke to call van drivers and teachers etc., "The cream of the tribute industry" but what a wasted opportunity to showcase the real top acts in a weekly head to head knock out that would have been entertaining instead of the same fewer and fewer hopeful contestants week after boring week?
I'm quiting watching and I wonder what the viewing figures will be like at the end of the run?
This would be a joke if it wasn't so insulting to the real top pro tribute acts?
