TRINNY and Tranny continued their assault on the nation last night - and this week their mission was to turn grannies into glamour girls.

The pair claimed to be "flying the flag for women over the age of 60".

But in reality it seemed like they were just trying to make old ladies shop in Topshop and Miss Selfridge.

Mutton dressed as lamb certainly sprang to mind a couple of times.

Trinny and Susannah used to be the best, but lately, with stylists such as the brilliant Gok Wan and the good (if slightly annoying) Nicky Hambleton-Jones, everyone's favourite public schoolgirls are looking a little over the hill.

After all, the only thing they seem to do is take a woman, humiliate her until she cries, encourage her husband to say their sex life is rubbish, then take her shopping, laughing at whatever she says she likes.

The woman emerges 45 minutes later wearing scaffolding-style underwear, an A-line skirt, wrap cardigan, big belt and black stretchy knee-high boots saying she feels like a new woman.

And the only price she's had to pay is having her boobs and bum prodded on national television.

I just feel sorry for the women the day after the final photoshoot when they realise they can't style their new immaculate hair do on their own and that high heels aren't practical for doing the weekly shop.
