THE Urban Culture Jam Festival returned for a second year at Accrington Skate Park yesterday.

The youth art, music, fashion and sport event was entirely organised by youngsters from Clayton-le-Moors Youth Club.

This year, an extended programme saw them work with international artists, DJs, MCs and beat boxers.

Dutch street artist Zedz created a large-scale purpose-built installation used for ‘free running’— a form of urban acrobatics.

French graffiti artist Eric Hoang also created a project on the day, alongside teens producing their own artwork with the help of volunteers.

Attractions included live music from the boombike band – a collection of musicians playing instruments on modified bicycles.

And BMX, skateboard and scooter enthusiasts took part in contests judged by their peers.

The event was part of Blaze, a youth-led culture and sport programme delivered with Lancashire County Council.
