BLACKBURN'S big wheel has returned to the town centre by popular demand.
The 33-metre high ride, which opened to the public on December 9, arrived back in King William Street this Christmas.
Last year the wheel, offering panoramic views of the town centre, proved a hit with shoppers and bosses hope it will again be the focal point for a busy Christmas shopping period.
Councillor Dave Harling, Executive Member for Regeneration, said: “The wheel was so popular last year that it is back again.
"The new family ticket means that it is still affordable for everyone and brings some Christmas atmosphere in the town centre.
"With late night shopping in the fantastic new Mall and lots of activities in the town centre, Blackburn is the place to visit this year.”
And the 24 carriages hold up to four people and the slow-moving wheel takes about ten minutes to revolve.
Tickets cost £1.50 or £5 for family ticket and the wheel will be in place until January 2.
