THE Maple State are not your traditional parka-wearing Manc-rock band.
Not least because the Stockport five-piece sing in American accents and on the first track, We Swear By The Light Life, sound rather like emo heroes Panic! At The Disco.
Thankfully, for those of us who have decided that being able to see is more important than having an enormous fringe, The Maple State do have their less emo moments, like the stimulating chorus of Temperate Lives.
This six-track mini-album is a work in progress on the way to a future long-player.
If The Maple State want to be as big as their American idols then there's a long way for them to go based on this rather average release.
