MOVING FORWARD, Mary-Clare Armitstead, £7.99, Vanguard Press.

TRADITIONAL poetic structures are broken down in this autobiographical work, which exposes an Ulverston woman’s thoughts and feelings during her fight to find happiness.

Mary-Clare Armitstead takes the reader on an emotional ride through a period in her life when she was having relationship problems with her husband, her daughter wanted to leave home and her house was flooded.

She unveils the story of how she regained control of her life, using simple language and unstructured rhyme schemes.

This is a very interesting postmodern work and definitely worth a read.
