The guide is beautifully laid out in a simple, clear way, which makes it very easy to follow.
The detail which John Miles, a former RSPB reserve warden, goes into is staggering.
The book tells you what chance you have of finding a particular bird at a site as well as the best time of the year.
He also gives some history about each of the featured places, which should appeal to non-ornithologists as well as bird-lovers.
