IF there's a better way to round off a glorious weekend than an open-air concert by the Northern Chamber Orchestra set to fireworks, then I don't know what it is.
The finale of the month-long Celebrate Blackburn Festival saw 250 people gather on Blackburn College campus for the musical extravaganza.
One crowd-pleaser was Thunderbirds March and conductor Nicholas Smith's impromptu Can-Can dancing was another high.
But the pinnacle came in a rousing rendition of Rule Britannia with soprano Rachel Taylor, in which the audience rose to their feet.
The concert gave dozens of Blackburn families a night to remember.
Proof that culture's not dead in Blackburn yet.
