TWELVE acts will battle it out tonight in the grand final of the Lancashire Telegraph-backed contest to find East Lancashire’s most talented musicians.

After four weeks of live heats, the Reidy’s Talent Contest reaches its climax in the Windsor Suite at King George’s Hall, Blackburn.

At stake is £1,000 in vouchers to spend at Reidy’s Music Superstore on Nab Lane, Blackburn, for the winner.

Seventy acts and performers went through a live audition process on the store’s own performance stage just to get to the competition’s heats stage.

Paul Nuttall, managing director of Reidy’s, said: “The quality and diversity of entrants has amazed us all and the final promises to be a fabulous celebration of talent.

The contest has demonstrated that live music is alive and well in East Lancashire. I don’t envy the judges having to pick a winner out of the 12 fabulous acts who have got through.”

The judges are leading agent Dave Reeve, promoter Ronnie Brown and Lancashire Telegraph features editor John Anson Due to the demand for tickets the final has been moved to the much larger Windsor Suite within the King George’s Hall complex and the event will be streamed live on the Lancashire Telegraph website for those unable to attend.

Tickets for the final cost £3 on the door or via the King Goerge’s Hall box office on 0844 847 1664. The final starts at the earlier time of 7pm.
