Jared Leto and Mark Ruffalo had fans completely fooled when they donned disguises to hang out at New York’s Comic-Con.

Jared – who plays The Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad – and Mark, aka The Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers movies, wore elaborate masks to hide their identities and enjoy the convention in the Big Apple.

And the comic book crowd will be kicking themselves that they didn’t spot their heroes.

Jared later posted a photo on his Instagram page revealing his Rafiki from The Lion King mask.

He even posed with one fan dressed as his villainous alter-ego, who was completely oblivious that he was in the presence of greatness.

Fellow actor Mark took his children to the event, and also wore a mask to avoid being mobbed.

He posted photos of his disguise on Instagram, writing alongside the image: “Got to hide out and enjoy #comiccon2015.”

Marvel fans couldn’t believe they had missed him, with one commenting: “What!!! Hulk was there!!!”
