Celebrities and sports stars were out in full force as they attended the British Grand Prix in Silverstone to watch Lewis Hamilton win the race, despite suffering a bad start.

Quite a few movers and shakers from the world of television, pop music and alpine ski racing were seen in the crowd that saw Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel take the podium alonside Hamilton.

We saw George Lucas, who handed the reins over to director JJ Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy for the upcoming massive Star Wars franchise, watching the race dressed in jeans and bomber jacket.

Also present at the glamorous event was former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, aka Baby Spice. Dressed in tropical summer print, Emma’s date for the day was her adorable young son Beau Lee.

Geri Horner, formerly known as Geri Halliwell, has been a familiar face at all the F1 races, thanks to her husband and Red Bull supremo Christian Horner. However this time, the former Ginger Spice decided to turn it into a family day out with her young daughter Bluebell Madonna.

Joining Geri and Emma was yet another Spice Girl – Melanie Chisholm, who looked stylish in her bow-tie crop trousers and sleeveless top. With three-fifths of the disbanded Spice Girls hanging out near the GP circuit, it was almost like a mini reunion for the 90s girl band at Silverstone.

It seems American skier Lindsey Vonn is spending a lot of time in the UK since her split from Tiger Woods. She was spotted at Wimbledon recently cheering on Caroline Wozniacki play Camila Giorgi before descending on Silverstone in a helicopter. Talk about grand entrance!

Singer Will Young, however, managed to stay incognito until we spotted him hiding behind a pair of dark shades and a summery hat.

Meanwhile, another musician seen at Silverstone was Clifford Joseph Price, better known as Goldie. The gold-teethed graffiti-artist-turned-musician was seen hanging out in the Red Bull control room during a behind-the-scenes tour.

Carol Vorderman, on the other hand, looked like she may have tried to take the pole position herself in a va-va-voom body-hugging grey dress, tousled blonde locks and eye-catching strappy wedges.

Silverstone also proved to be an opportunity for Finnish football manager Sami Hyypia to meet Italian jockey Frankie Dettori. Altough we can’t imagine what they would want to chit chat about.

Meanwhile, a rather exited Real Madrid midfielder was seen hanging out at the Mercedes den. “Simply amazing to join Team Mercedes at the Silverstone UK,” Toni Kroos wrote on his Instagram post. And before you start worrying, no, he’s not hanging up his football boots to become an F1 racer.
