Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl proved he’s made of tougher stuff than most of us, after he broke his leg during a gig in Sweden and carried on playing anyway.

But now it seems that Grohl isn’t as invincible as we imagined – the band have had to cancel two Europe shows while Grohl is on the mend.

Here’s the break in all its glory:

Videos show Grohl tripping off stage and plummeting on to the floor, all the while with his guitar still strapped round his neck.

In videos posted on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, Grohl can be heard saying: “I think I just broke my leg. I think I really broke my leg”, while lying on his back in front of the stage.

The rest of the band carried on jamming out without their beloved frontman as he was taken away for medical attention, but like a true trooper he returned later on the finish his set.

We’ve got to give it to him – not many artists would finish their set after falling off the stage and breaking a leg. Sadly for fans at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands and St. Gallen, Switzerland, Grohl’s leg has been deemed too messed up and the band have cancelled these shows.

We’ve got to hand it to him, that was a pretty rock’n'roll move. Much like the time one of the Jedward twins tore a ligament in his knee and still managed to finish their set.

We’re sure John and Edward are a huge inspiration to the Foo Fighters.
