1:46pm Friday 11th November 2011 in Music: What's on
AS a tribute artist, when you get invited to perform in front of the person you are imitating, you must be doing something right.
But when that artist is singer Engelbert Humperdinck and the occasion is his 75th birthday party in Las Vegas, that surely is the biggest endorsement an artist can get.
Theatregoers in East Lancashire will get the chance to see for themselves what it is that makes Scott Dee so special in the world of tribute acts when he headlines a special variety show in aid of the Mayor of Blackburn and Darwen’s charities at the Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn.
With the ever-popular Phil Knight Experience acting as house band, the Command Performance also includes a showcase of young singing talent including Imogen and Joe Martin, plus the comedy monolgues of Steve Morris.
Four charities will benefit from the proceeds from the show — Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Wish Centre, the Young Carers Project and the Carers Centre.
The Mayor's Command Performance is at Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn, on Friday, November 11. Tickets are available on the door priced £12 and £10. The show starts at 7.30pm. For details, contact the box office on 01254 685500.
