LEGENDARY crooner Tony Christie and the world-renowned Ronnie Scott’s All Stars Orchestra will headline a charity show at Preston’s Charter Theatre at the end of the month.

The variety show, hosted by comedian Phil Cool is being held as part of the Preston Guild celebrations and will raise money for sevreal local charities.

The evening features others performers including Alex Lowe, whose character ‘Barry from Watford’ is a regular on Steve Wright’s Radio 2 show; singer-songwriter Peter Grant, hailed as the next Michael Buble; the UK’s first ‘Jessie J’ tribute Catherine Vandome; local acoustic duo The Mirrortones (Steph Ashford and Joe Martin); jazz and swing artist Sandy Ince; young Blackburn vocalist Caroline Eve; Iain Mac; Manchester singer Ruth Armitt; and Hesketh Bank’s Naomi Gidney.

Completing the line-up are a 17-piece brass band from Nimes and Latin American dancers from Kalisz in Poland, representing two of Preston’s twin towns.

The Big Guild Gig is at the Charter Theatre on August 31. Tickets, £35, are available on 0845 344 2012.
