STARSAILOR frontman James Walsh will be playing a date in the intimate surroundings of Manchester’s Deaf Institute next month to promote his debut solo album.

The Chorley-born singer and songwriter recorded Turning Point at Genesis’ Fisher Lane Studios in London and the album features guest appearances from Suzanne Vega and Mike Rutherford.

James said: “Turning Point is a soulful album, There are some harder moments but in the main it’s an emotional record with a Sunday morning feel.”

With Starsailor, James was catapulted into the limelight when their debut album Love is Here went top 10 and publications such as NME heralded them as the ‘new Coldplay’.

They supported U2 in Paris and sold more than three million albums.
