IN THIS worthy book, Kirkby Lonsdale writer and filmmaker Maurice Dybeck looks back on the first 21 years of the Sawtry Village College in Huntingdon, where he was once warden.

One notable benefit of Mr Dybeck’s appointment was the strong links established between the Sawtry college and the Brathay Trust in Ambleside, where the author had been a chief instructor in the 1950s.

College For All is in many ways an unconventional book, relying quite a lot on reproduced documents such as letters and reports, helping to make it a valuable source of archive material for future educationalists.
