Encounters with Wainwright, edited by David Johnson, £15
Encounters with Wainwright contains 120 stories of people who met or knew Alfred Wainwright and has been compiled and edited by David Johnson, editor of the Wainwright Society's magazine Footsteps. The stories range from very brief encounters to accounts from those who knew him over many years. Together they provide much new information and many previously unpublished photographs and provide the reader with an opportunity to consider Wainwright afresh in the light of first-hand experience.
All profits from this book received by the Wainwright Society will be donated to Animal Rescue Cumbria, the charity that Wainwright and his wife, Betty, supported passionately.
It is available direct from Wainwright Society www.wainwright.org.uk or Animal Rescue Cumbria 01539-824293
